“The staff there were so brilliant and really encouraged me – I felt honoured to win the prize.”
Store manager Nick Barnard said: “Alice did really well. We’re so pleased it helped to make Christmas extra special for her family.”

Gary's a Bourne winner with Anglia Co-operative
January 2012
DUSTMAN Gary Hughes really cleaned up when he won a competition in his local newspaper, the Bourne Local.
Gary, of Dowsby, scooped a two-minute dash around the Bourne Anglia Co-operative foodstore – and grabbed over £200 worth of goods when he took up his prize at the Burghley Centre store.
Father-of-two Gary, a dustman in Peterborough, joked: “My wife Tressa usually does all the shopping – but she told me to do the dash!
“The two minutes seemed to go so quick. I was under instructions to get things like washing powder, but it was a case of grabbing what I could as I went round the aisles.
“It was thoroughly enjoyable and I was really, really pleased with my final total.”
Gary almost filled two trollies with his ‘shopping’, running up a final bill of £210.48p and store manager Gavin Price said: “He did really well – that’s an impressive total for just two minutes’ shopping!”
