Marmaris
If you want lots of holiday action topped with a large helping of party spirit, Marmaris is the place to be, and is Turkey’s biggest resort. The town is set in a huge, sweeping bay and surrounded by dramatic, pine covered mountains. There’s something for everyone here, from a long, sand-pebble beach ideal for sunbathing and swimming, to a delightful promenade and a 16th century fortress. There’s also a smart, modern marina graced with chic shops, eateries and a bustling bazaar. At night, the town positively bubbles over with activity, especially on the aptly-named Bar Street.

Olu Deniz
Olu Deniz boasts the most photographed beach in Turkey, a sensational curve of powdery white shingle framing a
shimmering blue lagoon where you can stretch out in bliss or enjoy a variety of watersports. Nearby, you’ll find cafés, bars and restaurants many of which come alive by night, so evening entertainment is right on hand. Up in the mountains close by is Hisaronu, a cooling hillside resort with a great variety of restaurants and a host of up-tempo nightspots. A frequent dolmus service runs to Olu Deniz, so it’s ideal for daytimes on the beach followed by an upbeat evening or two.

Hisaronu
It may sound odd to build a resort 4 kms from the beach, but the once-sleepy village of Hisaronu is just that, and it works wonderfully. Nestled in the verdant mountains this small resort retains much of its original charm, making it a real favourite with families and couples in search of a relaxed break. Much of the activity here is centred around one main street, where a
cluster of shops, bars and restaurants are on hand to keep visitors entertained day or night. Should you wish to venture further afield, the mesmerising lagoon of Olu Deniz is easily reached by Dolmus.

Ovacik
Lush evergreen hillsides are the setting for the tranquil resort of Ovacik. Far quieter than its neighbours, this low-key village focuses more on its stunning rural surroundings in which it is set. Make sure you allow plenty of time to roam the labyrinthine trails that lead into the mountains, where you can take in the fresh scent of the surrounding pines. Bars and restaurants are scattered sparingly throughout the village, however a short trip on the Dolmus will take you to the mesmerising lagoon at Olu
Deniz or the up-tempo nightlife of Hisaronu.

Icmeler
Icmeler is a cosmopolitan resort with a strong European flavour and lifestyle. Lying in a sheltered bay ideal for watersports, the main attraction is its curve of beach, framed by rows of stylish hotels.
